Bow River
48 x 32 Acrylic/canvas 1992

I noticed the Alberta sunset put on a nice display when the warm Chinook came in from the west. There is no reference for this painting just a memory of the scene in the Alberta foothills ,the source of the winding Bow River.
Painting from memory often simplifies the essence of whats inspiring, the details seem to fall away in this painting to focus on composition, patterns and colour. At this period learning to use brush and paint super seeded any notion of creating detail with a brush, for this reason I tried to keep the paintings on the larger side.
